Dries Van Noten; most noteably known for his participation with five other Belgian designers who made up “Antwerp Six”. These designers revolutionized fashion shows since the early 80’s. The most famous show was at the British Designer Show in London in 1988, geared to attract international press and buyers to view their collections.
Van Noten was born in 1958 into a family of retailing, manufacturing, and sourcing. He graduated from Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1981 while working as a freelance designer. He also worked as a buyer until he created his own fashion line, which debuted in 1986. Since then, he has opened boutiques in Antwerp, Milan, and Paris. His collections are sold in over 400 stores worldwide, selling 100,000 pieces daily.
