Isabella Blow's Exceptional Wardrobe To Be Auctioned By Christie's

Next September Christie's will auction the late Isabella Blow's pretty extraordinary wardrobe. Blow, a stylist, is credited with discovering Alexander McQueen when she bought his entire Saint Martins College of Art and Design graduation collection for 5,000 pounds. What followed was a rocky friendship --Blow was on one hand considered McQueen's muse; on the other, she felt abandoned and overlooked as his star rose. After a long struggle with depression and multiple suicide attempts, she took her own life in 2007. McQueen died by suicide on February 11th, 2010. The New York Times reports that the Christie's collection will include over 90 McQueen outfits, shoes from Manolo Blahnik, and 50 Philip Treacy hats, the accessory for which Miss Blow was most famous. -The Huffington Post
