Tom Sachs

"Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU)," 2007With each passing year, Sachs goes deeper into his "Space Program" project, making reproductions, models, and artworks based on NASA’s Apollo missions. In 2007 he went so far as to recruit firms like Nike and Prada to help design products for his show at Gagosian Beverly Hills. The resulting line of items — jackets, shoes, and more, all white — provides a sleek, sporty twist on the stuffy sartorial style of 1960s lunar exploration.
